Passage West GAA Club is delighted to announce that we will be hosting the Kellogg’s Cúl Camps again this year – our camp will be held from August 9th to August 13th everyday from 10am to 2pm. Our Online portal to register will be open soon, and more information will be put out on our social media channels in the coming days.
A little bit of information about the Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps:
Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps provide primary school boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 13 – with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games.
Activities are player-centred with a Games Based approach and a strong emphasis on personal development and well-being. Activities are also organised in an age-appropriate manner with a view to:
Optimising learning
Enhancing friendships
Improving physical & psychological wellbeing
Promote school and club links
The camps are structured so that a different aspect of the game is worked on each day. The programme involves coaching specific skills of the game and provides the opportunity for children to put into practice what they have learned through small sided games. During the camp week, a “blitz” is organised to provide each child with an introduction to competitive games.
Ladies Jersey Sponsorship
This season our Junior ladies will be kitted out in new jerseys featuring the Pieta House logo. This is being made possible by the generosity of an anonymous donor in consultation with the charity and we are delighted to be able to highlight the great work done by Pieta House. We are looking forward to seeing the girls wearing them in the coming weeks and wish to express our sincere gratitude again for this kind gesture extended to our club.
Our U12/13 girls will also be playing in style with a new set of jerseys kindly sponsored by past player Paul Holly of Southern Tree Services. Paul is also one of our calendar sponsors and his ongoing support of the club is very much appreciated.
Local Business of the Month
We are now incorporating a new segment into our newsletter that highlights a local business or organisation in our community – this is to showcase al the businesses in our local community, and to give some of them much needed publicity during these challenging times. Our first business of the month is the Passage West Pace Centre, and one of the recent recipients of our “Lets Run as One” Fundraiser that was run in April.
